Standing resplendent within 500 acres of rolling Devon countryside stands the exclusive wedding venue of Shilstone House. Shilstone House is a restored, family-owned, Georgian manor house located close to the town of Ivybridge in Devon. As well as this beautiful house and a marquee in which to party the night away, Shilstone House has two barns, Whitmore and Meadow, which can accommodate up to 36 family and friends and is perfect for your wedding party preparations. Shilstone even boasts its own swimming pool!

Shilstone House is truly breathtaking. With the house sitting at an elevated viewpoint, the South Terrance at Shilstone House offers couples and their guests an idyllic viewpoint into the valley with its cascading pools and the valley beyond.

Shilstone House offers amazing opportunities for beautiful wedding photography whatever the weather. The interior of the house is outstanding and much thought has been put into its restoration. Shilstone boasts a stunning 85-foot-arched passage leading the eye down the length of the house to the West Hall, a intimate courtyard, as well as a beautiful dining room with full-height windows and an open fireplace that leads guests out onto the South Terrace for those all-important views.

As an experienced Devon wedding photographer, you can be sure that you will receive beautiful photos whatever the weather. Any experienced photographer should know that to get the best photos you need the best light, which changes based on the season and time of day.

Whilst most of my photography is documentary in style (apart from the group photos), I do like to take you outside for a few minutes just a couple of times throughout the day. My favourite time for wedding portraits is about 20 minutes before the sun sets. This time of day is perfect for your couples portraits and makes for stunning wall art which you will want to hang on your sitting room wall.

My goal in this session is to show beautiful, relaxed portraits that you and your friends and family will love. I know people do not like having their photos taken, and I’m one of them. That’s why I try to make the process as relaxed as possible, allowing you guys the opportunity for some alone time and giving you some cues that are designed to make you giggle.
