My name is Bridget and I am a wedding and events florist and the owner of Bridget’s Flower Shed, which is located in Clayhidon, Devon. I have had my business for three years now and I love anything to do with flowers & weddings.

Why Helen Chapman Photograhy loves working with Bridget’s Flower Shed.

Bridget at Bridget’s flower shed offers an exceptional service to all her customers through listening to their needs, wants and desires.  She guides the couples through varying aspects of what is available and tailors her floral arrangements to complement the theme and wishes of the couple.

This idea of this bespoke, person centred service fits perfectly with my own philosophy of placing the couple at the centre of all that I do to ensure that their wedding day is perfect in every way.

I first met Helen when we were both exhibiting at a wedding fair about 18 months ago and have worked together on a couple of photo shoots. She is very enthusiastic about her work and is very thorough and professional. Helen is very friendly and easy to talk to which makes everyone feel very relaxed and at ease.

FAQ’s with Bridget’s Flower Shed

What is the mission or purpose of your company?

I strive to deliver a very personal service to my brides from  the moment that they have their first consultation and through every stage until their special day. I offer advice and recommendations to help them have exactly what they would like for their wedding flowers.

What got you into the wedding industry? what is your compaany’s story?

My career in floristry started later in life as I have always worked in dentistry as a Dental Hygienist. I took some evening classes in floristry at my local adult learning facility and fell in love with it immediately. I continued to do more classes & completed the full syllabus available. My tutor suggested I go to college to do the City & Guilds Diploma, which I decided I would love to do. I studied at Bridgwater & Taunton College but at the site in Yeovil and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I passed the course with Distinction and was very proud to receive the Most Outstanding Student Award.

I retired from being a Hygienist to start my journey as a florist and worked for six months at a florist’s shop in Cullompton where I gained a great deal of experience. I then decided I would love to concentrate on the wedding side of floristry and so the Flower Shed was born and I now work from home.
