Just 15 minutes drive outside of Exmouth in beautiful East Devon, lays one of Devon’s most magnificent historic gardens, Bicton Park Botanical Garden.

Stunning grounds surround and complement the truly unique Palm House a historic  wedding venue in the heart if Devon. Filled with lush tropical plants the Palm House can offer you a romantic civil ceremony in one of the most beautiful glass buildings in the world.

Something Special

As well as The Palm House and beautiful gardens, Bicton also gives you, and up to 100 guests, the opportunity to relive your childhood and ride on their very own woodland railway.

This train ride, lasting 25 minutes, gently meanders its way through Bicton’s stunning landscape allowing your guests the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of this stunning wedding venue in a fun and unique way.

Wedding Ceremony at Bicton Gardens

Civil ceremonies take place in the palm House which became licenced for weddings in 2000. Constructed from 18,000 individual panes of glass and flooded with natural light, this 19th century Palm House makes a perfect setting for couples who are seeking beauty with a touch of history.

The expansive Rose Garden lawn outside the Palm House allows up to 120 guests (including registrars) to be seated undercover, whist smaller more intimate weddings can be accommodated within the Palm House itself.

If the weather is favourable there can really be no better location for your couple’s photos than the gardens of Bicton Botanical Park.

From the Italian inspired gardens, through to the dappling brooke and bridges where you can play Poo sticks with your guests, to quiet secluded hideaways where you can be alone as a couple, Bicton Park has it all.

The gardens are truly outstanding and will certainly give you a glorious backdrop for your wedding photography.

Wedding Reception at Bicton Park

The Garden room and adjacent orangery offer a stunning reception venue. With far reaching views across the Italian inspired Gardens and fountains to the obelisk in the distance, Bicton provides the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast and reception needs.

If you want to party into the night that’s fine too, the Garden room with it’s own bar, adjacent to the orangery, is the perfect setting for a live band or DJ to dance the night away.

Q-How many guests can I invite to my Bicton wedding?

A-Bicton Park can accommodate up to 120 guests

Q- Can I choose my own caterer?

A- Bicton Park requests that you if you choose to have your reception at Bicton you enjoy their choice of either afternoon tea with a selection of Devonshire homemade clotted cream scones and confectionaries, or their wedding breakfast buffet. An evening reception buffet is also available.

Q-Can we stay the night at the venue?

A-Unfortunately Bicton Park does not have any overnight accommodation, but there are many beautiful local hotels nearby, such as the Woodbury Park Hotel on Woodbury common. Situated just 6 minutes drive from Bicton Park your guests can enjoy Woodbury Parks gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room as part of their stay in East Devon. Your wedding guests can also enjoy complimentary use of their 9-hole short course, which is included in the cost of your stay at the hotel.
